I made a little video to show how I like to hold my birds on my hand while carrying them or when they land on me during recall and flight training. I have tried every possible variation over the years and this is the safest way I believe. Macaws have large feet and they can scratch your arm even tho they don't want to, they have big nails and very strong feet that are designed to let them hang upside down, hold nuts and do all kinds of fun stuff. Also when it comes to flight training I prefer this way because it is safer while you are carrying the bird or when the bird lands on you, not every landing will be perfect and this gives the bird extra stability in the windy conditions while and after landing. If you have a way you like better feel free to show me pls, specially the smaller birds like budgies and tiels, its been a long time since I had those, maybe we need one ;-)
